Today was a super sunny day in London. Monika and I took advantage of this to take a long walk along the Thames. Our tour started at Westminster, where the London Eye, Big Ben and the House of Parliament are located. A few steps behind the London Eye in the direction of London Bridge there is a sweet market alley where there is a lot to discover. There are numerous stalls selling many different delicacies – whether Mexican, Italian or Spanish cuisine – there is something for every sweet tooth! 🙂 Often you can even try wine, cheese or sweets. *yummi*
On the way we passed many street artists and visited among others the famous museum of modern art , the Tate Modern, in which high building one can even enjoy coffee and cake in the last floor with a fantastic view over London. Then we continued in direction to London Bridge. Meanwhile it got a little fresh, so we took a step forward and stopped quickly at Starbucks for a „Hot Chocolate“ :). At half past five we reached London Bridge and the Borough Market, which was just about to close. Here I definitely have to come back again, because here you can also try, taste, marvel at and nibble at many delicacies! 🙂 On our way back home to the shared flat we found a nice Sushi-Bar – the Wasabi Sushi on Liverpool Street. Very recommendable – especially for people with a small purse!
Tomorrow we’ll drive to Portobello Market in Notting Hill again, because on Saturdays the hustle and bustle is even bigger there than on the other weekdays! I am already curious if I can get a bargain! 🙂
